Rachel Rankin, NP
Rachel Rankin graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2016 with a degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. After several years working as a medical assistant, she developed a strong interest in dermatology and skin health. She was accepted into a competitive entry-level MSN–Family Nurse Practitioner program, earning one of 20 positions from approximately 300 applicants. After obtaining her nursing license, Rachel worked in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, where she gained experience managing complex wounds including diabetic foot ulcers and pressure injuries. During the final year of graduate school, she completed an intensive dermatology internship in rural California, treating skin cancer, rashes, hair loss, acne, and numerous complex dermatologic conditions on a daily basis. She later moved to New York to be closer to family and joined The Dermatology Specialists.
