Dr. John Havens Cary, MD
Havens Cary, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist originally from New Orleans. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with High Honors and membership in Phi Beta Kappa before attending Louisiana State University School of Medicine. During medical school, he completed a research fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco under dermatologist Howard Maibach and contributed to more than 20 peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters. Dr. Cary completed dermatology residency at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn and has remained active academically, including serving as chief editor of Rosacea in the Updates in Clinical Dermatology series and as a member of the American Academy of Dermatology. His clinical interests include acne, rosacea, alopecia and other hair disorders, skin-cancer screening and management, laser therapy, psoriasis, and other inflammatory skin diseases. He emphasizes preventive medicine, emerging therapies, and individualized, patient-centered care.
