Dr. Umar Sheikh, MD
Dr. Umar Sheikh is a dermatologist serving the New York City area. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from Saint Louis University. He then completed a clinical research fellowship at Saint Louis University with specialty training in pediatric dermatology, eczema, and clinical trials. Dr. Sheikh completed both his internal medicine internship and dermatology residency at the University of Chicago, where he was selected as Chief Resident. During his training, he received scholarships through the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Academy of Dermatology, as well as the Rising Derm Stars Award, a Global Health Distinction, and support for a global dermatology rotation in Cambodia. He has published broadly in national and international dermatology journals and participates in several professional dermatology societies. His clinical interests include eczema, contact dermatitis, psoriasis, acne, hair loss, rare and common skin conditions across diverse populations, and cosmetic dermatology. Outside practice, he enjoys travel, exploring New York neighborhoods and coffee shops, music, and time with friends and family.
