Greetings. I am a warm and supportive clinical psychologist working with late adolescents and adults of all ages in individual psychotherapy. I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, and relationship and family conflict, as well as those who have survived childhood trauma, such as neglect, and emotional, sexual, or physical abuse. My primary goal is to establish a safe, supportive, and compassionate therapeutic relationship with you that will allow us to explore what troubles you the most and develop a deeper understanding of you and how I might best help you in healing and restorative ways. My work is primarily based on a psychodynamic perspective. Still, I incorporate elements of cognitive-behavioral and dialectical-behavioral practice as might be required by the issues you bring into treatment. My approach is always collaborative. We will work together to explore the issues that have brought you to therapy and will proceed informed by your needs, goals, and best practices of the profession. We might focus on current stressors, strong, overwhelming emotional states, negative relationship patterns, or self-defeating behaviors - like excessive substance use - that you’d like to move past. Your experience is unique, and I aim to tailor a treatment that best suits you. I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University, Brooklyn Campus, and trained at various sites in New York City, including Mount Sinai Beth Israel, where I worked on both inpatient and outpatient units, including work specifically with older adults. I also trained at Baruch College Counseling Center, various community clinics, and psychiatric emergency rooms. I am well-trained to work with diverse populations in terms of race and ethnicity, gender, and sexual expression, as well as immigration status.
