Dr. Sergey Petrosian is a board-certified dermatologist at the Skin Institute of New York (SINY®), providing comprehensive dermatologic care to both adult and pediatric patients. He practices at SINY® locations in Forest Hills, Queens, as well as Park Slope and Bay Ridge in Brooklyn. Known for his thorough evaluations, attentive bedside manner, and individualized treatment plans, Dr. Petrosian is committed to delivering evidence-based dermatologic care in a welcoming and compassionate environment. A native New Yorker, Dr. Petrosian grew up in Queens and attended Brooklyn Technical High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Stony Brook University before receiving his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, now known as NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his dermatology residency at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Queens in affiliation with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. During his residency, Dr. Petrosian presented and lectured at numerous conferences, received multiple academic honors, and consistently scored among the top percentiles nationally on dermatology in-service examinations. His training in New York City exposed him to a large and diverse patient population and allowed him to train under and receive mentorship from specialists across multiple areas of dermatology. Dr. Petrosian is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology and provides comprehensive medical and cosmetic dermatologic care. He also completed three years of training with a cosmetic dermatologist. His particular areas of expertise and interest include cosmetic dermatology, acne, hair loss, and skin cancer screening. He approaches each patient with the goal of providing highly personalized, compassionate care and treating patients with the same attention he would give his own family.
