Dr. Ioana Shirley is a Psychiatrist with board certifications in Child and Adult Psychiatry. After many years of private practice work in Birmingham AL, as well as international work in Europe and South East Asia, she is opening a practice in New York City. She feels honored to return to the city where her American medical experience started, and is thrilled to bring state of the art services that are personal, affordable and complete. She believes in therapy, psychopharmacology, holistic and allopathic medicine. Consultations with her start with the patient, and not with the disease, and through telemedicine, they are comfortable, private, and safe. She has extensive expertise in the treatment of all psychiatric and psychological conditions of children, adults, couples and families. She believes that all interactions have a healing effect, and whether conducting consultation, therapy, medication management, or a combination of them, the relationship will be professional, private and respectful. Since 1995, when she started her psychiatry career, two processes have shaped her profession: the significant development in the science of the human brain, as well as the influx of technology in our lives. Therefore, she believes she can best help those who join her in a journey of self-introspection, during which science and empathy blend into recovery.
