Sean Thompson, FNP-BC, is a nationally certified Family Nurse Practitioner at SINY Dermatology who specializes in medical dermatology. He treats conditions including eczema, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, and other common skin disorders and has particular experience diagnosing and treating dermatologic conditions in skin of color. Patient education is central to Sean’s approach. He works to make skin conditions easier to understand and gives patients practical guidance on how to care for their skin between visits, not just a prescription or procedure. He is especially interested in helping patients manage chronic conditions in ways that fit into everyday life. Sean earned his Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior from the University of California, Davis and later completed both his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing at Columbia University. He pursued additional dermatology training at Bronx Lebanon Hospital and through academic dermatology sessions at Albert Einstein Medical School. Sean speaks English and Spanish.
