Sumaia Chowdhury, PA-C, is a board-certified dermatology Physician Assistant at The Dermatology Specialists. A native New Yorker, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Hunter College before completing a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. Before becoming a PA, Sumaia gained substantial clinical experience in the emergency room and as a surgical technician. During PA school, she completed dermatology training in Huntington, further developing her experience in the specialty. She has continued her education through specialized training with the American Academy of Dermatology and is committed to providing high-quality, inclusive dermatologic care with warmth, compassion, and a patient-centered approach. Outside of clinical practice, Sumaia has a strong interest in skincare, enjoys fantasy and thriller novels, likes exploring different cuisines through cooking and dining, and spends time fostering and rescuing cats.
