Dr. Sonoma Patel, MD
Sonoma Patel, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician at NYU Langone who takes a whole-child approach to primary care. She considers physical health, emotional well-being, development, and social factors together and works closely with families to support healthy growth from infancy through adolescence. Dr. Patel provides preventive care, wellness visits, immunizations, treatment of acute illnesses, and guidance through developmental milestones. She strives to create a setting where children feel listened to and parents feel comfortable asking questions, with care plans built around the individual needs of each family. A Michigan native, Dr. Patel earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, her medical degree from Albany Medical College, and completed Pediatrics residency training at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Her academic work has also included research and quality-improvement projects in pediatric preventive care.
